We have been experiencing some trouble with disruptive children during movies. Children are coming to movies that dont seem to interest them, resulting in talking, frequent trips to the lobby & restrooms, and general bad behavior. Because we want shows at the Royal Theater to be positive for everyone attending, we are adopting some new policies.
Effective November 21, 2003 the following policies will be enforced:
Policy 1: Children under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by an adult to the ticket counter. Please make sure your child knows the rules of polite behavior and is willing to follow them. Anyone who can't stay quietly in their seat will be asked to leave. Once we know you and your child, and he or she has consistently behaved properly, they may be permitted to come in alone.
Policy 2: Children under the age of 13 will not be permitted to attend a PG13 rated movie without their parent or other adult. We want to assure that you know what your child is watching, that it is age appropriate, and they are interested in it.
Policy 3: Children who are not attending the movie will not be permitted in the lobby or on the front sidewalk. Those who lose interest in the movie will be asked to leave. No hanging out.
If you want to know if your child is staying or leaving, causing trouble or not, please ask us. We appreciate your interest.
Please understand that we want the Royal to be a safe and fun place for children\. However, it is a movie theater and those attending should have viewing the movie in mind, not hanging out to chat with friends. No one can enjoy the show with a lot of commotion in progress.
Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please stop in, or call 745-1499 and leave a message.
